Placements24's client in East London, Eastern Cape, is seeking a Pipeline Integrity Engineer with a strong background in pipeline integrity to develop and implement integrity management programs, assess risks, and oversee maintenance and repair activities in the Oil & Gas sector.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering, 5+ years of experience, and deep knowledge of corrosion mechanisms, regulatory requirements, and ILI data analysis.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Pipeline Integrity Engineer to join their team in East London . This role is responsible for ensuring the safety, reliability, and longevity of the company's pipeline network. You will be involved in developing and implementing integrity management programs, assessing risks, and overseeing maintenance and repair activities. The ideal candidate has a strong background in pipeline engineering and a deep understanding of integrity assessment techniques, contributing significantly to the safe and efficient transportation of resources within the Oil & Gas sector. This position offers a chance to work on critical infrastructure in the Eastern Cape.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive pipeline integrity management plans (PIMPs).
• Conduct risk assessments, including corrosion, mechanical damage, and third-party interference risks.
• Plan and oversee inline inspection (ILI) campaigns and analyze ILI data.
• Specify and monitor maintenance, repair, and replacement activities for pipelines.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., API, ASME).
• Investigate pipeline incidents and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Liaise with operations, maintenance, and external contractors on integrity-related matters.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in pipeline integrity or a related pipeline engineering discipline within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Strong knowledge of corrosion mechanisms, prevention methods, and materials science.
