Job summary

Vortex Companies, LLC in Virginia is seeking a CCTV Operator to support our trenchless infrastructure work. You will operate CCTV cameras, locate manholes, and perform jetting and cleaning tasks in water and sewer environments, with travel required.

This is a full-time, non-exempt role with a competitive hourly rate and a benefits package including health, vision, and dental insurance, 401K, and paid time off. Flexibility for shifts is expected as projects demand.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience with water, sewer, televising, jetting, or CIPP construction.
• Knowledge of closed video camera operation and high-pressure sewer cleaning equipment.
• PACP/MACP/LACP certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of plans and specifications.
• Proficient with lasers, line and grade.
• Good customer service and communication, with mechanical aptitude.
• Awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.

Responsibilities

• Operate CCTV cameras to inspect pipelines and identify cleaning needs.
• Jetting, cabling, and installing clean-outs as directed.
• Locate manholes from maps and assist in surveying.
• Maintain equipment and perform related project tasks.
• Set up and take down traffic controls on site.
• Record job footage and store securely.

CCTV (Camera) Operators perform services ranging from locating manholes from a map, performing confined space entry operations, and performing standard CCTV/Cleaning operations.

Job will include work in and around waterlines, sanitary and storm sewers. Travel required.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Operating remote cameras that utilize CCTV to record interiors of various pipelines for inspections to determine if cleaning is needed (as well as what type) and if the pipe line is a candidate for lining
• Jetting, cabling, and installing clean-outs
• Locate manholes from a map
• Perform miscellaneous related duties and carry out special projects as assigned
• Operation and maintenance of all equipment
• Performs all work tasks required to support execution of sewer maintenance, inspection and/or rehabilitation pipeline tasks
• Repair various pipelines using a specific product and process
• Performs difficult skilled work supervising and participating in jetting of sewer lines and vactoring of manholes and lift station
• Set-up/take-down traffic control in the street
• Store Footage

Skills required:

• At least 1-year experience with water, sewer, televising, jetting, or CIPP construction
• General knowledge of the operation of closed video camera equipment, and high pressure sewer cleaning equipment
• PACP/MACP/LACP preferred

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday but can include shift work, weekends, evenings, holidays - flexibility is required as job duties demand.

Salary Range

• $22.00- $30.00, depending on position qualifications, job related skills and experience, education, certifications, and geographic location.
