Job summary

Garney Construction is seeking a Pipelayer in Loveland, CO. You will lay and install underground pipes and fittings for water, sewer, and drain work, with emphasis on large-diameter pipes and accurate trenching.

The role requires reading blueprints, standing for extended periods, and completing Garney certifications. Overtime may be required; pay ranges listed reflect field compensation and benefits. This is a hands-on, on-site position with opportunities to grow skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience installing large diameter pipes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specs.
• Able to stand for a full shift and perform manual tasks.
• Willing to complete Garney certifications (Rigging/Signaling, Confined Space, OSHA 10).
• Willing to work overtime.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the area for pipe laying by directing trenching and grading.
• Perform laborer tasks as required.
• Assist equipment operators in placing pipe.
• Direct equipment operators with hand signals.
• Backfill around pipe using hand tools.
• Set up and use pipe lasers and transits.
• Locate and mark pipe positions in trenches.
• Assemble and install valves, fittings and pipe.
• Join pipes with screws, bolts, fittings, solder, and solvent cement.
• Test pipes for leakage and cut to length.

GARNEY

A Pipelayer job is available at Garney. To be considered for this position you must have previous experience with pipe laying. As a Pipelayer, you will assemble, install and repair underground pipes and fittings. This includes, but not limited to, metallic and plastic pipe, ductile iron pipe, steel pipe, and concrete pipe for water, sewer, and drain work.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Prepare the area in which pipe will lay by directing trenching and grading
• Perform functions of a laborer as required
• Assist equipment operators in the placement of pipe
• Direct equipment operators with hand signals
• Backfill around pipe using hand tools
• Set-up and work with pipe lasers and transits
• Locate and mark the correct position of pipe and fittings in an underground trench
• Assemble and install valves, fitting and pipe composed of metal, PVC, ductile and concrete
• Joins pipes by use of screws, bolts, fittings, solder, and plastic solvent cement
• Test pipes for leakage, measures and cuts pipe

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Two years of experience installing large diameter pipes for water, sewer, storm drain
• Experience in reading and understanding blueprints and specifications to determine work procedure
• Must be able to work on their feet for an entire day, understand and perform assigned tasks
• Must be willing to complete certifications provided by Garney, this includes "Rigging and Signaling Certification", "Confined Space Training Certification", and OSHA 10 hour
• Must be willing to work overtime
