Job summary

Suncore Construction & Materials is hiring a Pipelayer to install water, sewer, and storm drain systems, with competitive pay and comprehensive benefits. Responsibilities include aligning pipes, trenching, reading blueprints, and ensuring proper grades and joints.

The candidate should have at least 1 year of pipelaying experience, knowledge of civil utility projects, and the physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in hot conditions.

Qualifications

• 1+ year pipelaying experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of water, sewer, storm drain systems.
• Familiar with pipe laying methods and safety practices.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in heat.

Responsibilities

• Align and position pipes for sealing.
• Check slopes using tools or instruments.
• Connect pipe pieces and seal joints; cover with earth.
• Dig trenches to required depths.
• Read and interpret blueprints for utilities.
• Grade trench bases with hand or power tools.

Things You’ll Do

• Align and position pipes to prepare them for sealing.
• Check slopes for conformance to requirements, using instruments such as lasers, grade rods, or transit levels.
• Connect pipe pieces and seal joints, cover pipes with earth or other materials, cut pipes to required lengths.
• Dig trenches to required depths.
• Read, identify, and understand blueprints related to all above and below ground utilities.
• Grade or level trench bases, using tamping machines or other hand tools.

Requirements

• At least 1-year pipelaying experience with underground utilities or a similar field
• Extensive knowledge of water, sewer and storm drain systems as well as dry utilities and other civil related projects.
• Knowledge of pipe laying methods, practices, and procedures.
• Ability to bend, sit for long periods, and work in the heat.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs without assistance.
• Attention and commitment to safety.
