Job summary

Flippo Construction Company, Inc. seeks a Pipelayer Apprentice to join our team in the Washington, DC area. You will assist a pipelayer in laying and repairing underground utility pipes while receiving on-the-job and classroom training.

The role also includes general labor duties under the supervision of the foreman. Responsibilities include setting up and operating lasers and transits, reading grade poles, inspecting pipes for defects, and working in confined spaces.

Qualifications

• Requires physical stamina for lifting and manual labor.
• Basic understanding of construction work and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist in laying and repairing water, storm, sewer and conduit pipe lines.
• Help set up and operate lasers and transits; read grade poles for pipe installation.
• Inspect pipes for cleanliness and defects before installation.
• Work in confined and enclosed spaces and maneuver pipes into position.
• Perform other duties as assigned; may work Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
