Position Type: Full-Time, Benefit Eligible

Typical Schedule: Monday through Friday: 7am to 5pm. Schedule may vary.

Job Location: Central Ohio Projects

Typical Pay Range: $25 - $30 /per Hour

PLUS $1,000 SIGN ON BONUS!!

As a Pipe Layer at Layton Services, your role will install underground utility pipes for water line, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and drains, including pipe bedding and seal joints. This role requires experience in trenching, grading, and laying various types of pipe while ensuring proper alignment, depth, and slope according to project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

1. Install, align, repair underground utility pipes and structures for water, sewer, storm, and fire line systems.
2. Measure, cut, connect pipes using appropriate tools and techniques.
3. Ensure proper grading, sloping, and compaction of trenches to meet design requirements.
4. Assist with trench excavation, shoring, and backfilling operations.
5. Use level lasers, transits, and grade rods to maintain accurate elevations.
6. Follow safety protocols, including trench safety and confined space entry procedures.
7. Work closely with equipment operators, foreman, and other crew members for efficiency.

Qualifications

1. Minimum 2 years experience in underground utility installation, pipe laying, or related excavation work.
2. Knowledge of various types of pipe and installation methods.
3. Certifications (can obtain once hired, training provided by Layton Services):

• OSHA 10 and OSHA Trenching & Excavating
