C.W. Matthews Contracting Company in Savannah, GA is seeking a dependable Pipelayer to join our underground utility team. You will help install storm drainage, sanitary sewer, and waterline systems on heavy civil projects, working with operators, foremen, and crew members.

Applicants should have pipelaying or underground utility experience, be able to read plans and elevations, and perform physically demanding outdoor work while prioritizing safety and efficiency on site.

Responsabilités

• Install underground pipe for storm drainage, sanitary sewer, and waterline systems.
• Assist with pipe layout, alignment, grading, and connections according to project plans and specifications.
• Check pipe elevation, slope, and alignment to ensure proper installation.
• Prepare pipe bedding and assist with trench preparation, backfilling, and compaction.
• Work with equipment operators and crew members to keep installation work moving efficiently.
• Follow trench safety procedures and maintain awareness of surrounding equipment and jobsite conditions.
• Use hand tools and other equipment needed for underground utility installation.
• Maintain a clean work area and follow all company safety requirements.

C.W. Matthews Contracting Company is looking for a dependable, hardworking Pipelayer to join our underground utility team in Savannah, GA. If you have experience installing underground utilities and take pride in quality workmanship, safety, and being part of a productive crew, we want to hear from you.

As a Pipelayer, you'll work alongside equipment operators, foremen, and other crew members to install underground utility systems on heavy civil construction projects. We're looking for someone who understands the importance of proper pipe placement, accurate grades, and working safely in the field.

What You'll Do

Install underground pipe for storm drainage, sanitary sewer, and waterline systems.

Assist with pipe layout, alignment, grading, and connections according to project plans and specifications.

Check pipe elevation, slope, and alignment to ensure proper installation.

Prepare pipe bedding and assist with trench preparation, backfilling, and compaction.

Work with equipment operators and crew members to keep installation work moving efficiently.

Follow trench safety procedures and maintain awareness of surrounding equipment and jobsite conditions.

What We're Looking For

Previous pipelaying or underground utility construction experience preferred.

Familiarity with storm drainage, sanitary sewer, and waterline installation.

Ability to understand grades, elevations, and basic construction plans.

Knowledge of safe work practices around trenches, excavations, and heavy equipment.

Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Dependability, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work well with a crew.

Willingness to work overtime as project schedules require.
