Job summary

Environmental Air Systems, Inc. in High Point, NC seeks a Pipefitter Top Helper to assist with the layout, assembly, and installation of piping systems per project blueprints.

You will measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes, help install supports and fixtures, inspect for leaks, and keep tools in good condition while maintaining safety standards and PPE usage. Training and teamwork are emphasized. OSHA 10 certification within the last five years is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a pipefitter helper or in a similar role.
• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of relevant vocational training or an apprenticeship program is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Aid pipefitters in the layout, assembly, and installation of piping systems, ensuring adherence to project specifications and blueprints.
• Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to required angles using hand and power tools, preparing materials for installation.
• Assist with the installation of pipe systems, supports, fixtures, and equipment for various piping systems such as water, gas, and steam.
• Inspect and test installed systems to identify leaks and other issues, making necessary adjustments and repairs as needed.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, ensuring a safe work environment by wearing appropriate PPE and participating in safety meetings.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition, ensuring they are cleaned, stored properly, and available for use when needed.
• Identify and resolve issues that may arise during the project, providing practical solutions to maintain timelines and quality standards.
• Assist in training and mentoring less experienced helpers, promoting skill development and adherence to best practices within the pipefitting trade.
