Pipefitters and Top Helpers (Fabrication Shop)

Job Overview

We are hiring Pipefitters and Pipefitter helpers for our Fabrication Shop located in Matthews, NC. Please note, these positions do not include Per Diem allowances.

Responsibilities

• Fit components as specified by layouts, engineering drawings, work orders, or verbal instructions.
• Clean, bevel, prepare, and install pipe with fittings and weld joints.
• Set up, lay out work using jigs/fixtures or hand layouts to fabricate parts or rework finished products.
• Operate forklifts, hoists, hand power tools, overhead cranes, grinders, cutting torches, plasma arc, and other tools as needed.
• Read, understand, and follow job specifications, drawings, and work orders.
• Cross-train and perform other job tasks as required.
• Inspect equipment and report repairs to supervisor or maintenance department.

Working Conditions

Work involves exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and weather conditions. Must be able to lift up to fifty pounds, operate all necessary equipment safely, and work in confined spaces, on ladders, lifts, and in awkward positions.

Tools Required

Tools include tape measures, wrenches, pipe wrenches, blue books, gloves, screwdrivers, levels, and more as listed in the original description.
