Job summary

A leading recruiting firm is seeking an experienced Pipefitter for a full-time, onsite role in Austin, Texas. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in pipefitting, a solid understanding of piping systems, and the ability to work with various tools and techniques. Responsibilities include layout, assembly, and installation of piping systems in commercial settings. Candidates must possess relevant certifications and a commitment to safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in industrial, commercial, or infrastructure pipefitting.
  • Knowledge of local plumbing and mechanical codes, as well as health and safety regulations.
  • Valid safety certifications such as WHMIS, Fall Protection, Confined Space, OSHA/CSO.

Responsibilities

  • Layout, assembly, installation and repair of piping systems in commercial buildings.
  • Install systems according to specifications and appropriate codes.
  • Use tools, gauges, and measuring equipment under supervision.
  • Maintain the work area and follow safety regulations.

Job description

A global leader in in coiled tubing, nitrogen pumping, and fluid pumping that are designed for process, pipeline, and well servicing applications-Full Time-Onsite

Qualifications:

Completion of a recognized Pipefitter apprenticeship program or equivalent trade certification (e.g., Red Seal – Canada, NCCER – U.S.)

Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in industrial, commercial, or infrastructure pipefitting

Strong understanding of piping systems, blueprints, isometric drawings, and specifications

Proficient in cutting, threading, grooving, bending, and welding various types of piping materials (e.g., carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, PVC)

Skilled in layout, installation, testing, and maintenance of piping systems including HVAC, gas, steam, and process piping

Knowledge of local plumbing and mechanical codes, as well as health and safety regulations

Ability to use hand and power tools, pipe fabrication machinery, and welding equipment

Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying site conditions

Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills

Valid safety certifications such as WHMIS, Fall Protection, Confined Space, and OSHA/CSO depending on region

Physically fit to perform manual labor, including lifting, standing, and repetitive motion tasks

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the layout, assembly, installation and repair of piping systems in commercial buildings
  • Installs these systems according to specifications and appropriate trade and building codes
  • These systems may consist of pipes, fittings, piping systems, fixtures and equipment for heating, cooling, gas, steam, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial processing systems
  • Works with various types of tools, gauges, and measuring equipment under the guidance and direction from supervisor
  • Studies specifications, building plans and shop drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of installation
  • Maintains the work area in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations (should support implementation of 6S)
  • Maintains required personal tools, and properly uses all Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and safety equipment
  • Sets up equipment and welding parts using arc, submerged arc, gas-shielded arc, mig and tig machines
  • Helps plumbers, pipefitters/welders, sheet metal workers or HVAC workers as needed
  • Inspects the structure to ascertain obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of the structure resulting from the installation of pipe
  • Lays out and marks position of pipe and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors using ruler, level, square and laser
  • Cuts openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and fittings using hand and power tools
  • Installs sleeves and leave outs for roof and wall penetrations
  • Helps excavate, backfill, and tamp ditches using shovels, picks, and tampers
  • Helps cut, ream, solder, braze, fuse, solvent weld, groove, thread pipe and press fittings using measuring tools, pipe cutters, torches, beveling machines, reamers, bolts, screws, fittings, alloys, gaskets, solvent cement, fusing machine, groove, and pipe-threading machines
  • Lays-out, positions, aligns, fits, tack-welds, assembles, and installs valves, hangers, pipe, and fittings composed of metals such as iron, steel, aluminum, brass, copper, and nonmetals such as fiberglass and plastic using hand tools, roustabouts, grasshoppers, come-alongs, chin falls and power tools
  • Installs, maintains and repairs air-conditioning and refrigeration systems including compressors, pumps, pneumatic and hydraulic controls and piping and similar mechanical accessories
