Job Summary

Bahnson Mechanical Systems is seeking a Sheetmetal Foreman who will have extensive commercial experience to lead our team on various projects. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in sheet metal work, be proficient in reading blueprints, and have the leadership skills necessary to guide to team effectively.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties will likely be assigned.

  • Partners with Project Management team to supervise, direct, and coordinate management of mechanical construction projects, including direct liaison with owner, contractor, designers, and subcontractors to ensure efficient and orderly performance of the job
  • Advocates safety as number one priority on the jobsite and enforces compliance with company and jobsite safety plan and policies and all safety-related regulations
  • Establish effective internal and external lines of communication with customer to assure project success. Keep all parties informed of project changes that affect their areas of responsibility.
  • Manage site compliance and safe work practices daily at the job site to meet customer expectations.
  • Assists in the development of and implements detailed schedules and production plans with budget and safety goals in mind
  • Responsible for daily reports, progress reports, compliance reports and logs along with all required safety documentation
  • Oversees the review of plans, blueprints and drawings in accordance with contract documents and specifications
  • Procures tools and materials needed for the project to ensure availability according to the work schedule
  • Determines staffing levels and timing considering building methodology as well as the availability of tools and equipment for each phase of the construction project
  • Confers with supervisory personnel and employees (with appropriate assistance from HR and Legal) to resolve complaints and grievances within the work force
  • Works with supervisory personnel and employees, engineers, subcontractors, inspectors, and supplier of tools and materials to improve construction methods and resolve project issues
  • Ensures current and future construction schedules are adhered to by determining appropriate staffing levels and material and tool procurement
  • Supervises and coordinates subcontractors to monitor their compliance with subcontract terms
  • Follows and enforces company policies and procedures
  • Coordinates and oversees regulatory inspection
  • Support, promote and enforce company safety program, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and Health And Safety Plans (HASP).
QUALIFICATIONS

PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • 3+ years of Piping/Orbital Welding project supervision
  • 3+ years of supervising construction teams of 10 or more
  • Experience communicating, negotiating and building rapport with customers & GC’s
  • Act and operate in a 'safety first' manner
  • Must be a self-starter and possess demonstrated career progression
  • Ability to work well as a part of a team and independently
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication skillsStrong written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed as well as determine and manage priorities with minimal guidance
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Ability to regularly commute to jobsite locations, industry meetings and events, client meetings and interviews
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills helpful, but not required
COMPUTER SKILLS
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, especially preparing, analyzing, and monitoring reports with Excel.
  • Experience reviewing/modifying schedules in Microsoft Project
