Job summary

Carotek, a SunSource company, seeks a skilled pipe fitter to plan, lay out and fabricate piping systems in our North Carolina facility. You will read blueprints, review P&IDs, and assemble piping and related equipment to exact specifications.

Responsibilities include calculating dimensions, cutting and bending pipe, installing supports, and preparing assemblies for welding. You will operate cranes and forklifts and maintain a safe, organized workspace while collaborating with piping designers

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or 1–3 years related experience.
• Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and interpret safety rules.
• Ability to convert metric to standard measurement and degrees to inches.
• Working knowledge of pipe fitting techniques and metals.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, plans and P&IDs.
• Plan, lay out and assemble piping systems and supports.
• Calculate dimensions, degrees, and lengths for fittings and pipe.
• Cut and bore holes in structures using hand and power tools.
• Assemble and secure pipes, fittings, and related equipment.
• Operate overhead crane, forklift, or hand truck to move parts.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and communicate professionally.
