Job Description

The Pipefitter will be responsible for laying out, assembling, installing, and maintaining pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for various industrial systems. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

1. Cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specifications using appropriate tools.
2. Attach pipes to structures and fixtures using brackets, clamps, or welding equipment.
3. Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading.
4. Plan pipe system layouts and installations according to specifications.
5. Select appropriate pipe sizes and related materials based on specifications.
6. Modify, clean, and maintain pipe systems and related equipment.
7. Install automatic controls for pipe systems.
8. Operate valves to control the flow of gases or liquids.
9. Remove and replace worn components.
10. Inspect work sites for obstructions and structural integrity.
11. Operate pumps to remove water from flooded areas.
12. Dip nonferrous piping in molten tin and lead to prevent erosion.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

The role requires physical activities such as sitting, standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.

Qualifications

• No minimum education requirements.
• Certifications: NCCER, TWIC, DL.
• Experience: 3-5 years at the Journeyman level.
