Job summary

Cherokee-Millwright,-Inc. is hiring a Multi-Craft Pipefitter in the Operations department. The role focuses on laying out, assembling, installing and maintaining pipe systems, supports and related equipment for steam, hot water, heating and industrial processes.

Employees will be cross-trained in various crafts such as millwrighting, pipefitting, welding, sheet metal and civil work to meet customer needs. This is an on-site, non-exempt position with a comprehensive salary and benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Cut, thread and hammer pipe to specifications, using tools such as saws, cutting torches, pipe threaders and benders.
• Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings and related equipment, according to specifications, by welding, brazing, cementing, soldering and threading joints.
• Attach pipes to walls, structures and fixtures, such as radiators or tanks, using brackets, clamps, tools or welding equipment.
• Inspect, examine, and test installed systems and pipelines, using pressure gauge, hydrostatic testing, observation, or other methods.
• Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading.
• Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair according to specifications.
• Additional skills in other crafts will be necessary to meet our customers need and will be expected in this role.

Summary: At Cherokee Millwright, we are a multi-craft company that focuses on the needs of our customers by providing multi-trades personnel to meet the customer’s unique job requests. Therefore, all field employees will be cross-trained in various trades such as millwrighting, pipefitting, welding, sheet metal, civil, etc. The focus of this position will be in lay out, assemble, install and maintain pipe systems, pipe supports and related equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, compressed air and industrial production and processing systems. However, it will not be entirely set to this specific skillset.
