Job description

Responsibilities include:

1. Reading blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work, including location, quantities, and sizes of materials required.
2. Laying out, positioning, aligning, and fitting together fabricated parts of structural metal products.
3. Setting up face blocks, jigs, and fixtures.
4. Locating and marking centerlines and reference points onto the floor or face block and transposing them to the workpiece, using tape, chains, plumb bobs, and squares.
5. Having experience with threaded pipe and/or compressed air systems is required.
6. Positioning or tightening braces, jacks, clamps, ropes, or bolt straps of bolt parts in positions for welding or riveting.
7. Additional responsibilities may be required.
