Job description

SUMMARY:

Responsible for jobs from the beginning stages to the completion and installation. Assembles and installs pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for hydraulic, pneumatic, lube, and coolant systems by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Consults on pipe fitting issues with department employees.
• Cuts, threads, and bends pipe.
• Assembles and installs a variety of metal and non-metal pipes, tubes, and fittings, including iron, steel, copper, and plastic.
• Connects pipes using threaded, soldered, and brazed methods.
• Secures pipes to structures with brackets, clamps, and hangers.
• Installs and maintains hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
• Performs pressure checks on systems and observes pressure gauges to detect leaks.
• Welds pipe supports to structural steel members.
• Observes production machines in the manufacturing area to detect malfunctions.
