Job summary

HII’s Newport News Shipbuilding is seeking a skilled Pipefitter to install, modify, and repair piping systems using drawings and blueprints. You will plan routing, placement, elevation, and installation of components to ensure proper operation and leak-free joints.

Requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years related experience; Apprentice graduate/Associate’s Degree in a relevant discipline with 1 year related experience; certification may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years related experience.
• Apprentice graduate or Associate’s Degree in a relevant discipline with 1 year related experience.
• May require certification.

Responsibilities

• Install, modify, and repair piping systems per drawings, blueprints, and sketches.
• Plan routing, placement, pitch, elevation, and operation of piping systems and equipment; install components as required.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent + 2 years related education/experience

Apprentice graduate / Associate's Degree in relevant discipline + 1 year related experience
