Job summary

AM Mechanical is a national mechanical contractor specializing in commercial process piping installations. The team services industries like laundry, manufacturing, plastics, clean rooms, and more, with travel and accommodations provided and a rotational schedule to allow time at home each month.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, laying out overhead piping, fabricating and installing supports, and performing pressure tests.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or trade school completion.
• 3+ years of experience installing process/plumbing piping systems.
• Willingness to travel to projects across the country on a rotating schedule.
• Able to work Monday–Saturday (10-hour days) with possible evenings/sundays.

Responsibilities

• Read and scale blueprints to lay out overhead piping distribution in commercial facilities.
• Install/fabricate hangers, wall supports, and floor supports for piping systems.
• Install various piping system specifications as required by project.
• Use joining methods for piping systems (site-dependent).
• Cut, thread, and fit pipe to specifications, using saws, torches, threaders and benders.
• Layout, install and assemble facility equipment per drawings and specs.
• Perform piping validation using pneumatic and hydrostatic testing as needed.
• Coordinate with foreman and journeyman pipefitters and welders to complete tasks.
• Set work sequences to meet construction schedules and capacities.
• Collaborate with team to ensure installations meet quality expectations.
• Operate equipment like forklifts, man lifts and power tools.
