Position Summary
Plan, lay out, install, test, and repair all types of piping systems in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties
- Maintain working knowledge of various types of pipe and pipe systems, including butt welded, socket welded, threaded, Victaulic, grooved, glued, and fused joints.
- Read isometric drawings, take measurements, fabricate, and install piping efficiently.
- Align, bolt, and clamp components of fabricated metal products for welding.
- Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and equipment by welding and threading joints.
- Position and secure materials and workpieces during installation; install items according to plans and specifications.
- Distinguish different thicknesses and types of metal materials.
- Handle and apply rigging equipment manually and safely.
- Operate tools such as beveling machines, grinders, pipe threaders, hammers, torches, magnetic drills, and Saw-Zall.
- Layout and install equipment, vessels, skids, pumps, pipes, and supports.
- Hydro test piping systems.
- Estimate sizes, distances, quantities, time, costs, resources, and materials needed for tasks.
- Inspect subordinate work for compliance, identify deficiencies, and take corrective actions.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience preferred.
- Strong skills and abilities for the position.
- Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions effectively.
- Proficient in the safe use of electrical, hand, power, and measurement tools.
Requirements
- Constant movement on construction/industrial sites; ability to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl.
- Work in outdoor environments with changing weather conditions.
- Work irregular hours, including weekends, overtime, and holidays.
- Use ladders, mechanical platforms, manlifts, scaffolds to access work areas.
- Work in confined, cluttered, and uneven spaces.
- Complete tasks in noisy and dusty environments.
- Move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Possess required tools and possibly a US driver's license.
- Comply with safety and project rules; pass drug, medical, and background checks.
