Position Summary

Plan, lay-out, install, test, and repair all types of piping systems in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties
  • Maintain working knowledge of various types of pipe and pipe systems, including butt welded, socket welded, threaded, Victaulic, grooved, glued, and fused joints
  • Read isometric drawings, take measurements, fabricate, and install piping efficiently
  • Align, bolt, and clamp components of fabricated metal products for welding
  • Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and equipment via welding and threading
  • Position and secure materials during installation; install items per plans and specifications
  • Distinguish metal material thickness and types
  • Handle rigging equipment manually and securely
  • Operate tools like beveling machines, grinders, pipe threaders, hammers, torches, drills, and saws
  • Layout and install equipment, vessels, skids, pumps, pipes, and supports
  • Hydro test piping systems
  • Estimate sizes, distances, quantities, and determine resources needed
  • Inspect work for compliance, identify deficiencies, and correct as needed
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent with relevant experience
  • Strong knowledge and skills for the role
  • Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively
  • Proficient in using electrical, hand, power, and measurement tools
Requirements
  • Ability to move around construction sites, stand, walk, reach, and work in various physical positions
  • Work in outdoor conditions, including weather variations
  • Work irregular hours, including weekends and overtime
  • Use ladders, lifts, scaffolds, and climb structures
  • Work in confined, cluttered, and uneven spaces
  • Complete tasks in noisy and dusty environments
  • Lift items up to 50 pounds
  • Possess required tools and possibly a U.S. Driver License
  • Follow safety and project rules, pass drug tests, and medical exams
