Job Overview:
Continental Tide is seeking an experienced and skilled Pipefitter to join our Fleet Services Group, working on ship repair, modernization, and Alteration Installation Team (AIT) projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Apply craft for layout, fit-up, install, and maintain piping systems on ships and submarines, including steam, heat, power, hydraulics, compressed air, sea water, freshwater, and chilled water systems.
  • Braze various pipe items, fit and assemble parts, and verify dimensions and alignment.
  • Plan piping system layouts following blueprints, ensuring conformance to specifications, holes, and obstructions.
  • Measure, cut, and bore holes in bulkheads and decks for piping installation.
  • Perform pipe bending, shaping, and operate shop machines for cutting and threading pipes and fittings.
  • Test installed systems using hydrostatic or other pressure testing methods for integrity.
  • Understand piping materials based on drawings or blueprints.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience and Skills:
  • High school diploma, trade, or vocational school degree required.
  • 5-10 years of experience in ship repair and installation of Hull, Mechanical & Electrical (HM&E) systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret ship drawings, specifications, and NAVSEA Standard Items preferred.
  • Ability to obtain a SECRET clearance and base access/security credentials.
  • Ability to lift and transport heavy equipment (at least 30 lbs), work in extreme environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, and confined spaces.
  • Travel may be required within and outside the U.S.
  • This role is open to U.S. citizens only due to export regulations.
