Job description

Assists Pipefitter to assemble and install piping for air, ammonia, gas, and water systems.

Essential Functions/Duties

1. Cut or drill holes in walls to permit passage of pipes.
2. Select specified type and size of pipe.
3. Mount pipe hangers and brackets on walls and ceiling to hold pipe.
4. Assist Pipefitter to install valves, coupling, and other fittings.
5. May disassemble and remove damaged pipe.
6. Load, transport, unload, and furnish experienced craft worker with materials, tools, equipment, and supplies.
7. Clean work area and restock supplies and materials as necessary.
8. Assist in lifting, positioning, and securing of materials and work pieces during installation.
