Job summary

Responsibilities

• Lay out, fabricate, assemble, install, and maintain mechanical piping systems per drawings.
• Cut and bevel pipe with torches and beveller, using power and hand tools.
• Fabricate pipe to correct dimensions, including offsets and fittings.
• Measure, fabricate, and fit butt-weld, socket weld, V-groove piping and valves.
• Operate threading equipment and rigging to position pipe.

Job description

Lead the daily activities of a piping crew in safely producing a quality, cost-efficient work product consistent with project goals and the expected standards established by Cianbro and our customers. The Pipefitter Foreman is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising piping installation activities while managing workforce productivity, material utilisation, and schedule performance. Utilize strong leadership, technical expertise, and communication skills to ensure piping systems are fabricated and installed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and quality requirements. The wage range for this position is $32 to $40 per hour. Compensation will be determined based on knowledge and experience.

Job Responsibilities

• Lay-out, fabricate, assemble, install, and maintain mechanical piping systems which include industrial processing systems, and high pressure piping systems according to the working drawings
• Cut and bevel pipe using oxy-fuel cutting torches, mechanical beveller’s or a combination of power and hand tools
• Must be proficient in making rolling offsets, fish mouths, laterals and consistently fabricating pipe to the correct dimension
• Measure, fabricate, and fit up butt-weld, socket weld, “V” grove pipe, valves, hangers, and threaded piping systems
• Operate threading machine equipment
• Ability to use rigging to move and get pipe in place

Qualifications/Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 4 - 6 years of Journey level experience fitting a variety of pipe in an industrial environment
• 3 plus years of supervisory experience in a heavy industrial construction environment
• Extensive knowledge of heavy industrial construction, specifically mechanical, electrical, and pipe
• Proficient in the use of cutting torches, plasma arc, cutting machines and rigid power threading equipment
• Able to read isometric drawings of piping systems and draw ISO’s of field run piping and fabricate from these drawings
• Ability to work at all heights.
• Prior rigging experience to include knowledge of hand signals, rigging gear, inspection, and proper use
• NCCER certification is a plus
• Must have good organisational abilities and possess strong oral and written communication skills
• State licensing may be required depending upon state
