Job summary

CT Mechanical is seeking a Pipefitting Foreman to lead field piping operations on active commercial and industrial job sites. You will supervise crews, select piping materials, read blueprints, and coordinate installation sequences to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant work.

The role requires strong technical leadership, the ability to coordinate with multiple trades, and a track record of delivering quality piping installations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Journeyman license preferred; relevant pipefitting experience acceptable without license.
  • Minimum 5+ years of pipefitting experience leading crews in commercial/industrial environments.
  • Strong ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings; interpret specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise pipefitting crews across multiple active job sites.
  • Select pipe types/sizes and materials per specs and drawings.
  • Plan installation sequences to maintain efficient workflow.
  • Interpret blueprints and isometrics for accurate installations.
  • Oversee installation, assembly, fabrication, maintenance, and repair of piping systems.
  • Thread, bend, and prepare piping with hand tools and equipment.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers and other trades to maintain schedules.
  • Enforce OSHA and company safety standards on site.
  • Mentor pipefitters and apprentices to improve workmanship.
  • Ensure jobsite organization and readiness for inspections.

Job Summary

CT Mechanical is seeking a highly capable Pipefitting Foreman to lead field-based piping operations across active job sites. This is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for overseeing installation, coordination, and execution of mechanical piping systems in commercial and industrial environments. The Pipefitting Foreman will drive production, manage field crews, and ensure all piping systems are installed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project specifications and company standards. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and the ability to coordinate with multiple trades in fast‑paced jobsite environments.


Key Responsibilities


  • Lead and supervise pipefitting crews across multiple active job sites.

  • Select type and size of pipe and related materials based on job specifications, system requirements, and construction drawings.

  • Plan and coordinate installation sequences to avoid obstructions and ensure efficient workflow.

  • Interpret blueprints, isometrics, and mechanical drawings to execute accurate installations.

  • Oversee the installation, assembly, fabrication, maintenance, and repair of mechanical piping systems.

  • Thread, bend, and prepare piping using hand tools and equipment as required.

  • Direct the assembly and joining of piping systems using appropriate methods and materials.

  • Ensure proper installation and securement of piping systems using clamps, brackets, and hangers.

  • Conduct pressure testing and system checks to identify leaks and verify system integrity.

  • Coordinate daily with Project Managers, other trades, and field leadership to maintain schedules and avoid conflicts.

  • Monitor crew productivity, manpower allocation, and jobsite performance.

  • Enforce OSHA and company safety standards, including jobsite compliance and best practices.

  • Mentor and develop pipefitters and apprentices, reinforcing quality workmanship and efficiency.

  • Maintain jobsite organization, cleanliness, and readiness for inspections.


Required Qualifications


  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Journeyman’s license preferred or minimum of 5+ years of pipefitting experience.

  • Proven experience leading crews in commercial or industrial mechanical piping environments.

  • Strong knowledge of piping systems, installation methods, and construction sequencing.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and mechanical drawings.

  • OSHA 10 certification required (or ability to obtain).

  • EPA certification is a plus.

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.

  • Willingness to work overtime and be on call as project demands require.

  • Physically capable of working in field conditions, including lifting, climbing, and working in varying environments.
