Job summary

The Gainesville VA Medical Center is seeking a Pipefitter (WG-4204-10) to maintain plumbing systems across the facility. This full-time role resides in the Facilities Management Service, Engineering Section, with a focus on high-quality workmanship and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintaining and repairing plumbing systems.
• Ability to read and interpret plumbing drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of safety rules and proper use of tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively to ensure maintenance and repair tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
• Demonstrate a high degree of skill in the pipefitting trade, ensuring workmanship and cleanliness.
• Prepare requests for materials and supplies necessary for completing tasks.
• Adhere to safety rules and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment.
• Assist other trades within the Maintenance and Repair section on tasks assigned by the Plumbing Shop Supervisor.
• Ensure compliance with trade standards and quality requirements.
