Job description

Position Summary

Lay out, assemble, install, or maintain pipe systems, pipe supports, or related hydraulic or pneumatic equipment in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties
  1. Read isometric drawings, take measurements, fabricate, and install piping efficiently.
  2. Align, bolt, and clamp together components of fabricated metal products to secure in position for welding.
  3. Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment according to specifications by welding and threading joints.
  4. Position and secure materials and workpieces during installation; install all other items according to plans and specifications.
  5. Distinguish varying thickness and types of metal materials.
  6. Manually handle and securely apply rigging equipment.
  7. Operate tools and equipment including beveling machines, cut-off grinders, hammers, torches, magnetic drills, and Saw-Zall.
  8. Layout and install equipment, vessels, skids, pumps, pipe, and supports.
  9. Hydro test piping systems.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent with relevant experience.
  • Working knowledge of tools and skills for the position.
  • Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and layout tools safely and efficiently.
Requirements
  • Ability to move about a construction/industrial site constantly, including standing, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
  • Work in outdoor conditions, exposed to weather.
  • Work irregular hours, including weekends, overtime, and holidays.
  • Use ladders, mechanical platforms, manlifts, scaffolds, and climb safely.
  • Work in confined, cluttered, and uneven spaces.
  • Complete tasks in noisy and dusty environments.
  • Move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Possess required tools.
  • Comply with safety and project rules, pass drug, medical, and background checks.
