Job summary

EXCEL Group is seeking an experienced Pipefitter to join our industrial team. You will install, assemble, and maintain piping systems, reading blueprints and specs, and coordinating with welders and engineers to ensure performance and safety.

Responsibilities include piping installation, cutting, alignment, testing, and maintenance using carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, and PVC. You will work in rigorous environments, uphold safety protocols, and contribute to on-time project delivery.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an Industrial Pipefitter.
  • Ability to read blueprints and isometric drawings for piping systems.
  • Skilled in pipe cutting, preparation, and welding.
  • Familiar with carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, and PVC materials.
  • Ability to perform pressure tests and inspections.
  • Strong attention to detail and safety.
  • Physical stamina to lift and maneuver heavy pipes.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication.
  • Valid welding certifications or related certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Piping System Installation: Read and interpret detailed blueprints, isometric drawings, and technical specifications to accurately install and assemble industrial piping systems.
  • Pipe Cutting and Preparation: Use cutting tools, saws, and pipe-cutting machines to cut pipes to the required lengths and angles.
  • Pipe Alignment: Align and position pipes with precision to maintain proper flow and connections between different sections of the piping system.
  • Pipe Supports: Install and secure pipe supports, clamps, and hangers to hold pipes in place and prevent sagging or excessive movement.
  • Testing and Inspection: Conduct pressure tests and inspections on installed piping systems to identify and address any leaks, defects, or performance issues.
  • Industrial Materials: Work with a variety of industrial-grade materials, such as carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, and PVC, based on project requirements.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working with pipes, fittings, welding equipment, and other tools to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Pipe Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on existing industrial piping systems to ensure their optimal performance and longevity.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as welders, pipefitters, boilermakers, and engineers, to achieve project goals.

  • Ability to conduct pressure tests and inspections to identify and resolve issues in industrial piping systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Physical strength and stamina to lift and maneuver heavy pipes and equipment.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with team members effectively.
  • Valid welding certifications or other relevant industry certifications.
