Job summary

Aramark Facilities Management is hiring a Journeyman Pipefitter to support operations at the General Motors Global Technical Center, a large, industrial campus.

This role requires a Michigan journeyman license or equivalent, 7+ years of commercial/industrial plumbing and steam systems experience, and the ability to read blueprints. You will mentor apprentices and uphold safety standards on site.

Qualifications

• Active State of Michigan Journeyman license or Journeyman card.
• 7+ years of commercial or industrial plumbing experience.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical trade work.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plumbing and piping systems in a large-scale industrial facility.
• Work with water, drainage, steam, heating, cooling, and industrial process piping systems.
• Lay out, fabricate, assemble, and install pipes, valves, fittings, and fixtures.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Test piping systems for leaks and proper operation.
• Install and repair plumbing fixtures including sinks, toilets, water heaters, and related equipment.
• Perform routine plumbing and pipefitting work independently.
• Use a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to document work.
• Support fabrication shop and service departments as needed.
• Work safely at heights and in confined spaces when required.
• Mentor apprentices and support team members.
• Follow all Aramark and GM Technical Center safety and housekeeping standards.

Aramark Facilities Management is hiring a Journeyman Pipefitter to support operations at the General Motors Global Technical Center-a large, non-manufacturing campus listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

This role is ideal for a skilled trades professional with strong commercial/industrial plumbing and steam system experience who thrives in a dynamic facilities environment.

UAW JOURNEYPERSON REQUIREMENTS:

1. Department of Labor Certificate of Completion of a Bonafide 4 year/8000 hour apprenticeship program.

2. If not, must have 8 years of verifiable experience.

If the 8 years is from a UAW facility, you must have a letter from the facility on company letterhead stating the dates of service and classification/s of the work performed during the years you are submitting as your experience. This letter must then be signed by a company representative with their name and title printed and it must also be signed by the local union bargaining chair or steward at the facility with their name and title printed.

If the 8 years experience is not at the UAW facility, the additional years of verifiable experience must be on company letterhead, signed by the company representative and then taken to be notarized.
