Job summary

Alliance Industrial Refrigeration in Walnut, CA has an immediate opening for a skilled Pipefitter who will fabricate, install, and repair piping, refrigeration equipment, and other fluid system structures. After installation, you will inspect and test each piping section to ensure there are no leaks and the piping is secure.

Our ideal candidate has at least one year of professional experience and may hold Carbon, Copper, PVC, and Stainless Steel Pipe Welding Certs.

Qualifications

• Current state pipefitter license, if you have one.
• 1+ years of experience as a pipefitter preferred.
• Proficient with manual and power tools, including measuring instruments.
• Attention to detail.
• Must be able to work OT, including weekends.
• Must pass a drug screen.
• Strong verbal communication skills and ability to function as part of a team.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal piping codes is a plus.
• Must travel out of town up to two weeks and have a reliable vehicle.
• Must have hand tools including a drill, impact drill, and tape measure.

Responsibilities

• Review project drawings to understand scope and timeline.
• Prefab, Braze, Soldering and PVC work as needed.
• Install piping or tubing segments securely with welding or other equipment.
• Perform trial runs and tests to ensure leak-free piping.
• Repair and reinforce damaged piping systems.
• Measure, mark, and lay out work areas; use appropriate PPE and safety practices.
• Travel to job sites as required; work overtime when needed.

Requirements

Pipefitter Duties and Responsibilities

• Review project drawings to understand scope and timeline
• Measure sections and order materials needed
• Prefab, Braze, Soldering and PVC.
• Install piping or tubing segments securely with welding or other equipment
• Perform trial runs and tests on pipe systems to ensure there are no leaks or weak points
• Repair and reinforce broken, cracked, or inadequate systems or pipes
• Measures, marks, and records openings and distances to lay out areas where work will be performed
• Must perform physical activities that require considerable use of the arms, legs, and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials
• Adherence to all safety requirements, including but not limited to proper PPE, work area, and equipment

Pipefitter Requirements and Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as a pipefitter preferred

• Must be able to work OT as needed, including Saturdays and Sundays
• Must be able to pass a drug screen
• Must have strong verbal communication skills and the ability to function as part of a team
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal building code regulations about piping systems is a plus
• Must be able to travel out of town for periods up to two weeks.
• Must have a reliable vehicle
• Must have hand tools including a drill, impact drill, and tape measure the basics
