Job summary

Rolls-Royce Indianapolis is seeking a Pipefitter to perform all pipefitting work for constructing and maintaining piping systems. The role is onsite under a 9/80 schedule with responsibilities including laying out, fabricating, installing, and testing water, gas, steam, and fuel lines.

Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED, completed apprenticeship or equivalent training (8 years), and a valid driver's license. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training with 8 years of experience to qualify as a Journeyman Pipefitter.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident status is required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, fabricate, install, maintain, alter, test and diagnose trouble and repairs for water, waste, gas, steam, acid, fuel, air and oil lines.
• Cut, thread, fit, align, weld, caulk and cover piping per blueprints and instructions.
• Use pipe wrenches, cutters, reamers, caulking tools, levels and threading machines and welding/cutting torches.

What You Will Be Doing

• Lay out, fabricate, install, maintain, alter, test and diagnose trouble and repairs for water, waste, gas, steam, acid, fuel, air and oil lines.
• Cut, thread, fit, align, weld, caulk and cover piping, as required, in accordance with blueprints, sketches and verbal instructions.
• Use all types of hand tools common to the trade, such as pipe wrenches, cutters, reamers, caulking tools, levels, etc. and such equipment as, threading machines, welding and cutting torches, sewer augers, etc.
• Handle materials manually or with the aid of material handling equipment.
• Must be knowledgeable about the proper and safe methods to handle these materials.
• May be required to assist in the cleanup of spills of these materials.
• Able to read, interpret and work from blueprints and have a knowledge of basic math.
• In this role, you may be required to work from ladders or scaffolding high above floor level and handle both liquid and solid type hazardous materials and wastes.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Basic Requirements
