Technologist III

Location: Niagara Falls Service Center, NY

Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is seeking a responsible worker to join our team!

The Technologist III/Mechanical Technician is responsible for the maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems, as well as some fabrication at the Niagara Falls Service Center, NY. This role requires technical skills in compressor maintenance and other rotating equipment, fabrication of manifolds, and small systems, with training provided. The technician must demonstrate initiative, be self-motivated, dependable, and capable of working with minimal supervision. Availability for after-hours calls and customer support outside of normal hours is required.

The technician operates all aspects of the Linde Acetylene and high-pressure plants, maintains equipment, and occasionally travels to support other locations or for training. This position reports to the Engineering Project Manager and is based in Niagara Falls, NY.

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain safety, quality, and compliance activities, including site inspections and maintenance.
  2. Install, start-up, and decommission high-pressure and acetylene supply systems.
  3. Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on process equipment.
  4. Manage parts inventory and supplies.
  5. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical malfunctions.
  6. Oversee safety and process safety programs.
  7. Develop and review standard operating procedures.
  8. Utilize hand and power tools following safety practices.
  9. Advise management on equipment life and research new equipment.
  10. Ensure safe work practices during maintenance.
  11. Coordinate material and equipment movement.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $27.00 - $35.00, depending on experience.

Working Conditions

Must be able to sit, stand, climb, walk, and perform physical activities such as lifting, bending, and working at heights. May require driving, office work, and on-call availability. Use of tools and equipment is expected.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma required; technical degree preferred.
  • Welding certification required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications required.
  • Clean driving record in the last 2 years.
  • 2+ years in operations environment preferred, especially in gases or maintenance.
  • 3+ years of equipment maintenance in chemical manufacturing preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA Process Safety Management elements and high-pressure piping systems is a plus.
