Position Overview
The Pipefitter will configure, install, fit, and maintain piping systems to ensure smooth operation. Responsibilities include cutting, assembling, installing pipes, and operating tools and machines to shape raw materials and assemble final products.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Plan, prepare, install, and maintain piping and plumbing systems using various materials, including pipes, gauges, filters, steam traps, and valves.
  • Consult blueprints, schematics, work orders, and instructions; develop work procedures based on specifications.
  • Gather equipment and materials needed for each job.
  • Weld, cut, bend, thread, solder, and fit pipes.
  • Attach pipes to walls using brackets or clamps; drill or bore holes as needed.
  • Install pipe coverings, safely remove and dispose of old coverings per hazardous waste procedures, EPA, and OSHA standards.
  • Inspect pipes for pressure and leaks; report and resolve issues.
  • Coordinate with managers for machinery maintenance, repairs, and installation to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Follow safety and building codes, regulations, and best practices.
  • Maintain records, including safety logs and inspection reports.
  • Support site safety, comply with OSHA regulations, and promote a safety culture.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to use tools such as blowtorches, saws, pipe benders, and welding torches.
  • Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
  • Understanding of safety principles and procedures.
  • Effective time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
