Job summary

KODIAK Construction Recruiting & Staffing is seeking a Pipe Welder (Tacker) in Richmond, VA. You will perform tack welding on pipe joints and fittings, ensuring proper alignment and joint integrity in accordance with drawings, specifications, and welding procedures.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints and weld symbols, verifying dimensions, maintaining safety, and assisting with full-weld welders as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a pipe fitter or pipe welder tacker.
• Able to read isometrics and weld symbols.
• Knowledge of carbon steel, stainless, alloys, etc.

Responsibilities

• Tack weld pipe joints per WPS requirements.
• Align, fit, and secure pipe sections using clamps and fixtures.
• Read blueprints, isometrics, and weld symbols to guide work.
• Verify dimensions and bevels before tacking.
• Inspect tack welds for penetration and defects.
• Maintain tools and workspace in a clean condition.
