Position and Responsibilities Overview
- Currently offering $1,000 Sign-on Bonus and up to $5,000 Relocation!
- Operate trade-specific machinery and tools (e.g., calipers, weld gauges, tape measures, and other welding hand tools).
- Read, interpret, and follow blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, weld symbols, bills of materials, and other instructions to accurately create equipment and products.
- Identify product defects and communicate effectively with the project foreman.
- Follow P&ID's for assembly tracks on projects.
- Create weldment setups and fixturing to meet geometric requirements.
- Work with overhead cranes, jib cranes, and forklifts.
- Collaborate with fabricators, welders, and laborers to improve skills and provide training.
- Maintain weld machines using preventative methods.
- Evaluate weld machine performance to improve cycle times.
- Assist with production tracking to meet goals.
- Communicate order status to management.
- Prioritize workflow through effective communication.
- Maintain welder certification per customer and company standards.
- Perform X-Ray quality welds on process piping, hydronics, and pressure vessels.
- Use blueprints to fit up X-ray quality weld joints.
- Comply with ASME pressure vessel and piping standards.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience, with at least 3 years welding experience preferred.
- Familiarity with welding on a rotator and fitting up with a rotator in mind.
- Knowledge of MIG, ARC, and TIG welding techniques; metallurgy knowledge is a plus.
- Proficient with pipe trade tools.
- Capable of passing a 6G FCAW weld test before hiring and a 6G GMAW weld test within one week of hire.
- Able to provide hand tools within 90 days of hire.
- Meet production goals within 90 days.
- Require minimal supervision and have excellent communication skills.
