Job summary

TPI Staffing, Inc. is seeking a Welder for a Temp-to-Hire position in Pearland, TX. The role runs 6am–4pm Mon–Thu and 6am–10am on Friday, with a pay rate up to $28.00 per hour.

The candidate will perform GTAW (TIG) pipe welding and must complete a 2-hour 1EA V-GROOVE OPEN ROOT test on 3" sch. 80 316SS, with an X-ray pass required. Responsibilities include setting up fixtures, welding varied materials, training others when needed, and participating in continuous improvement while following safety

Qualifications

• Experience with GTAW (TIG) pipe welding on stainless steel.
• Ability to read and follow welding specifications and tests.
• Willingness to pass welding tests (X-ray achievable).

Responsibilities

• Perform welding tasks to conform with specifications and certification requirements.
• Weld production and prototype parts using TIG/MIG welding processes.
• Set up fixtures and lay out work for production and prototype parts.
• Troubleshoot welding areas and support other welders as needed.
• Ensure welds pass destructive and non-destructive testing per product requirements.

WelderTemp to HireUp to $28.00 Hours:6am - 4pm with a 1 hour lunch Mon - Thurs and 6am to 10am on Friday. GTAW (TIG) PROCESS PIPE WELDING 1 EA V-GROOVE OPEN ROOT S40 316 PIPE TEST REQUIRED (2HR Time frame)

MAJOR DUTIES/FUNCTIONS

1. 1. Perform welding tasks in the manufacture of products to conform with specifications and certification requirements
2. 2. Weld production and more difficult prototype instrumentation piece parts in various materials including stainless steel, precious and semi-precious metals using various types of welding processes which may include TIG and/or MIG
3. 3. May operate program welding machine to weld production units
4. 4. Set up fixtures and lay out work for production and prototype piece parts
5. 5. Trouble shoot problem welding areas
6. 6. May train other welders and/or provide welding support to others as needed
7. 7. May work with various internal departments to establish welding process parameters
8. 8. Welds must pass destructive and non-destructive testing based on certification requirements per individual product
9. 7. Participate in continuous improvement processes
10. 8. Recommend changes to and participate in the review of manufacturing procedures
11. 9. Perform daily organization and cleanup of work area
12. 10. Follow safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions and incidents to supervision
13. 11. Perform work of a miscellaneous nature as required

Welding Test

The Test: 1G open root on 3" sch. 80 316ss (Minimum). Must pass X-ray. If candidate passes this test we will move to 6G. Growth: 6G proficiency will be required in the future
