Job summary

Albemarle Corporation in Magnolia, AR is seeking a Pipe Welder to fabricate, install and maintain piping systems in a chemical plant setting. You will interpret P&IDs, blueprints, and isometrics, perform SMAW and GTAW on carbon steel and stainless piping, and ensure welds meet quality standards.

The role requires 3–5+ years of industrial pipe welding, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to work with operations and maintenance teams.

This position is located on-site in Magnolia, AR.**What You Will Do*** Perform SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) and GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) on carbon steel, stainless steel, and other plant-approved materials.* Fabricate, install, modify, repair, and maintain piping systems, structural steel, vessels, and related equipment in accordance with applicable codes, specifications, drawings, and Albemarle engineering standards.* Read, interpret, and work from P&IDs, blueprints, isometric drawings, and fabrication sketches to complete work accurately and efficiently.* Create and modify isometric drawings and field sketches as needed to support fabrication and maintenance activities.* Prepare materials for welding through cutting, grinding, beveling, fitting, and layout work.* Operate cutting torches, plasma cutters, grinders, and other fabrication tools and equipment safely and effectively.* Perform welds that meet quality standards and successfully pass required visual, X-ray, and other non-destructive examination (NDE) inspections.* Conduct field inspections to identify maintenance needs, equipment deficiencies, and opportunities for continuous improvement.* Participate in safety meetings, perform Job Safety Analyses (JSAs/LSAs), and consistently follow Albemarle safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.* Work collaboratively with operations, maintenance, engineering, contractors, and other team members to safely complete work and support plant reliability.* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while demonstrating a commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement.**What You Bring****Required:*** High School Diploma or GED equivalent, or equivalent military/work experience.* Experience with industrial pipe welding, fabrication, or maintenance experience.* Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, blueprints, and isometric drawings.* Experience performing SMAW and GTAW welding on carbon steel and stainless steel piping systems.* Ability to fabricate, grind, bevel, and prepare pipe for welding and pass applicable welding qualification tests.* Knowledge of safe work practices in a chemical, industrial, or manufacturing environment.**It'd be great if you also have:*** Technical training, vocational certification, or welding certification from an accredited program.* 3-5+ years of industrial pipe welding experience in a chemical, petrochemical, refinery, or manufacturing environment.* Experience with drawing and fabrication of lined, screwed, and welded piping systems.* Familiarity with Albemarle welding procedures, engineering standards, and preventive maintenance practices.* Experience using cutting torches, plasma cutters, and other fabrication equipment.* Strong verbal, written, and teamwork skills.* Demonstrated ability to work independently and identify safety, quality, and cost improvement opportunities.**Benefits of joining Albemarle*** Competitive compensation* Comprehensive benefits package* A diverse array of resources to support you professionally and personally.We are partners to one another in pioneering new ways to be better for ourselves, our teams, and our communities.
