Job summary

We are seeking a skilled Pipe Welder for a leading regional mechanical contractor in Atlanta, GA. The ideal candidate will have strong shop experience, pipe welding capabilities, and active FCAW/GMAW certifications.

The role requires working with a positioner in a 1G rotating position to produce high-quality welds per drawings and specifications. Responsibilities include welding using FCAW and GMAW, reading shop drawings, and maintaining safety and productivity in a fast-paced fabrication

Qualifications

• Current FCAW/GMAW certifications
• AWS D1.1 3G or 4G Structural Certification (either or both)
• Must show proof of performing certified welding processes within the last 6 months
• Previous shop experience is mandatory
• Must have pipe welding experience

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality pipe welding using FCAW and GMAW processes
• Weld pipe on a positioner in a 1G rotating position
• Use solid wire for root passes and flux core wire for fill and cap passes
• Read and interpret shop drawings, weld symbols, and fabrication requirements
• Work independently with minimal supervision and maintain high productivity

A leading regional mechanical contractor with a strong presence across the Southeast is seeking an experienced Pipe Welder to join their growing fabrication and shop operations in Atlanta, GA. This role is ideal for a highly skilled welder who can step in, work independently, and deliver high‑quality welds with minimal supervision.

About the Role

We are looking for a welder with previous shop experience, strong pipe welding capability, and current FCAW/GMAW certifications. The ideal candidate has worked in a fabrication shop or is currently employed by a local shop, understands production welding environments, and can operate a positioner confidently.

This is a high‑expectation role — and for the right welder, compensation is among the strongest in the market.
