Pipe Stress Engineer

Jacobs is seeking a Pipe Stress Engineer to execute engineering tasks for industrial and commercial facilities. In this role you will manage project schedule, ensure technical quality, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to design equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accountable for the schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering projects.
  • Perform pipe stress analysis and support design.
  • Use AutoPIPE and Caesar II for pipe stress analysis.
  • Apply finite element analysis tools such as FE‑Pipe and NozzlePro.
  • Interpret and apply piping codes and standards (ASME, ANSI, API).
  • Communicate progress and findings verbally and in written reports.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross‑disciplinary teams.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in pipe stress analysis and support design.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
  • Proficiency in pipe stress analysis software such as AutoPIPE and Caesar II.
  • Proficiency with finite element analysis (FEA) and associated software such as FE‑Pipe and NozzlePro.
  • Strong understanding of piping codes and standards (ASME, ANSI, API).
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Preferred Additional Requirements
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Advanced experience with AutoPIPE.
  • Knowledge of plastic pipe design and analysis.
  • Experience with design tools such as Navisworks and AutoCAD.
  • Forward‑thinking mindset and eagerness to learn best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn rapidly and broaden knowledge base.
  • Team collaboration skills within multi‑disciplinary settings.

Salary

The base salary range for this position is $85,000.00 to $116,800.00. Pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and education or training.
