Overview

Kukurin Contracting, Inc. (KCI) is a General Contractor specializing in Utility Construction, Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants, Pump Stations and Highway Bridge Construction in the Western and Central Pennsylvania regions for over 40 years.

Kukurin Contracting Inc. (KCI) is seeking candidates for labor work for various Pipe/Utility work sites. Work area is from New Cumberland, WV to Altoona, PA and anywhere in between.

Pay: Prevailing Wage plus monthly benefits check. Paid weekly.

Work Schedule: Monday-Thursday (10 hours each day).

Basic Function

Laborer will work under the direct supervision of the jobsite Foreman and Superintendent. The laborer is responsible for general labor duties in addition to excavation for pipe, drainage structures and site utilities (Water line, sewage).

Responsibilities
  • Unload tools, prepare building site materials, stack building materials and set up equipment.
  • Follow project instructions from construction Foreman.
  • Use construction and maintenance tools and equipment to complete daily tasks.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations when operating equipment.
  • Ensure regulated and proper headgear, earplugs, gloves, safety glasses and clothing are worn.
  • Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Safely operate a variety of power tools including pressure washers, jackhammers, drills, saws, grinders and blowtorches.
  • Execute ditch work, including laying pipe and hand shoveling, to meet project requirements.
  • Digs, spreads and levels dirt, gravel or sand; and mixes, pours and spreads concrete and asphalt using hand tools.
  • Provide assistance to other employees (Operator, Foreman) as needed.
  • Clean and clear debris and materials.
  • Ensure construction equipment and tools are cleaned and stored properly.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience required.
Work Environment
  • Work sites are outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditions.
  • Work includes prolonged and repeated lifting (including overhead, up to 50 pounds); standing; climbing; kneeling; reaching; crouching and crawling.
  • Work is performed within the "red zone" of heavy equipment.
  • Working safely requires quick/accurate hand-eye coordination and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Requirements
  • Must have at least 4 years as a laborer with pipe, drainage structures and site utilities to be considered.
  • Required to pass pre-employment, post-accident and reasonable suspicion drug screens.
  • Provide valid US work authorization documents for E-Verify.
  • Satisfactory results of pre-employment background check results.
