Job Overview

The Pipe Laborer will assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of piping systems (including water, sewer, and stormwater systems).
• Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment required for piping work.
  
• Help in the laying and alignment of pipes, ensuring they are set according to project specifications.
• Operate hand tools and small machinery to assist with pipe cutting, threading, and assembly.
• Clean and clear work areas of debris to ensure safety.
• Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Follow all safety regulations and practices to maintain a safe work environment.
• Assist pipefitters and other construction workers in executing tasks as directed.
• Measure, cut, and prepare pipes for installation.
• Perform basic maintenance on tools and equipment.
• Maintain accurate logs of daily work activities and progress.
• Work in a team-oriented environment and communicate effectively with other laborers, foremen, and supervisors.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a laborer or in the construction industry.
• Ability to read and understand basic blueprints or work orders.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy materials and tools (up to 75 lbs.)
• Willingness to perform manual labor in varying weather conditions.
• Strong work ethic, dependability, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work safely and follow all safety guidelines and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with trenching, pipe laying, or pipe fitting.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment.
• OSHA safety certification or other construction-related certifications.
• Previous experience in plumbing, pipefitting, or general construction.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift heavy materials and tools, sometimes up to 75 lbs.
• Comfortable working in various weather conditions, including heat, rain, and cold.
• Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for long periods during work shifts.
• Ability to work in tight spaces and trenches.
