Job Description

Note: This role services the greater Gibsonton area.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Pipelayer to install underground utilities including water, sewer, storm drain, and other pipe systems. Responsibilities include preparing trenches, aligning and laying pipe to grade, and ensuring proper installation according to plans and safety standards. Ideal candidates have experience in civil or utility construction and work well in fast-paced outdoor environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install and align various types of pipe (PVC, RCP, HDPE, ductile iron, etc.) for sewer, water, and storm drainage systems
• Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and grade stakes (a plus)
• Set up pipe laser (a plus)
• Measure, cut, and connect pipe sections using proper tools and methods
• Ensure pipe slope, elevation, and alignment meet project specifications
• Assist in trench preparation and backfilling using hand or power tools
• Operate or assist with operation of compaction equipment and trench boxes
• Coordinate workflow with equipment operators and foremen
• Follow all safety procedures, including shoring, trench safety, and PPE use

Qualifications:

• 1–3 years of experience in pipe installation or underground utility work
• Knowledge of trench safety regulations and pipe installation techniques
• Ability to read grades and use laser levels or transits
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Valid driver’s license preferred
• Ability to work outdoors in physically demanding conditions

Physical Requirements:

• Lift 50–75 lbs regularly
• Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and dig frequently
• Work in all weather conditions and confined spaces
