Responsibilities

Performs a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor on heavy/highway construction projects.
Work site set up, maintenance, and cleanup, including scaffolding, barricades, and equipment locations.
Load, unload, or distribute materials and tools to designated locations.
Direct traffic at or near building sites and assist with traffic management.
Dig trenches or backfill excavations and level earth as required.
Use picks, shovels, and rakes to level earth or asphalt to specs.
Position or dismantle forms for pouring concrete and operate related tools.
Tend pumps, compressors, or generators and signal equipment operators.
Assist carpenters, ironworkers, plasterers and masons as needed.
Measure openings and distances for site preparation.
May operate various power and hand tools and other equipment.
Maintain a clean work area and perform safety checks on equipment.
Promote and adhere to the company’s safety program.
