Job summary

Environmental Air Systems, a full-service mechanical contractor, is seeking Pipe Helpers to join our manufacturing shop. In this role you will assist the Pipe Department and work alongside skilled trades employees to gain experience and grow your career path.

Schedule: Monday through Thursday 6:00 am to 4:30 pm. Total rewards include life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid holidays, PTO, weekly pay, comprehensive medical/dental/vision coverage, 401(k) with company match, onsite health

Qualifications

• Reading and speaking proficiency in English or Spanish required.
• High school diploma or equivalent minimum.
• At least 6 months experience in a manufacturing or construction environment preferred.
• Previous pipefitting or plumbing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist other trade employees in the Pipe Department as directed (e.g. Pipe welders, Pipe fitters, Plumbers, etc.)
• Handle and organize material
• Clean and maintain work areas, materials, and tools by removing debris and trash
• Use power tools (e.g. grinder, drill, impact wrench, etc.)
• Work safely and adhere to all safety rules and policies
• Work in a fast-paced team environment

• At least 6 months experience in a manufacturing or construction environment
• Speaking and reading proficiency in either English or Spanish is required
• Previous pipefitting or plumbing experience preferred

Job Requirements/Special Skills:

• Ability to read a tape measure required
• Ability to read blueprints preferred
• Ability to work independently and on a team
• Strong verbal communication skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to stoop, bend, crawl, and climb ladders throughout the shift
• Ability to stand and work for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to work in conditions of varying heat and cold where noise levels are at or above 90 decibels
• Ability to perform work at heights utilizing ladders and lifts
