Job summary

Gemstone LLC in Houston, TX lays out, fabricates, assembles, installs and maintains piping systems for steam, hot water, lubricating and industrial processing systems. The candidate will read drawings and plan installations with safety considerations in mind.

Responsibilities include material selection, cutting and bending pipe, and installing various fittings while complying with site safety requirements. Must work at elevated heights and pass pre-employment tests.

Qualifications

• 1–4 years of experience in piping or related skill.
• Written pre-employment qualification test.
• Post drug and alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
• Hazard communication orientation test.
• Jobsite orientation.
• Jobsite safety requirements as required by client.
• Must work at elevated heights.

Job description

Lay out, fabricate, assemble, installs and maintain piping systems, fixtures and equipment for steam, hot water, lubricating, and industrial processing systems. Ability to read and understand P8dD'S.

Functional Requirements:

Select size and type of related material according to job specifications, inspect work sites to determine presence of obstructions and to ascertain that holes will not cause structural weakness, plans sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other construction workers, cuts, threads and bends pipe assembles and install a variety of metal and nonmetal pipe fittings.

Qualifications Standards:

1. 1. One (1) to four (4) years of experience in specific skill.
2. 2. Written pre-employment qualification test.
3. 3. Post drug and alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
4. 4. Hazard communication orientation test.
5. 5. Jobsite orientation.

Tools Required.

Employee will be required to provide the following toolbox, pipe wrenches, crescent wrenches, level, torpedo levels squares, tri-squares, plumb bob, channel locks, hammer, center punch, screw drivers (regular and Phillips), combination wrenches, wrap around, tape measure, line up bars and two-hole pins.
