Description

U.A.W represented position responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems across various settings throughout the facility. The starting hourly pay for this position is $35.51.

Essential Functions:

• Install and maintain piping systems for air, oil, gas, paint, acids, solvents, etc., including pump and collectors.
• Cut threads, bend, file, de-burr, ream and install pipes, couplings, unions, elbows, flanges, valves, etc.
• Work with cast iron, brass, stainless steel, and other types of metal piping, valves, traps, and vessels.
• Use all types of pipefitters’ tools including taps, portable power pipe threaders, gas torches, hack saws, drills, benders, etc.
• Service and install sinks, toilets, showers, etc.
• This position will have other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must be a journeyman pipe fitting or able to immediately qualify for a journeyman pipe fitter card.
• Must be able to read blueprints and be able to use in-process gauges.
• Must be able to work on roof, in tunnels and on high work platforms.
• Manlifts up to 40 FT above floor.
• Must be able to calibrate test cells: Fuel, Smoke Meters, and other test equipment.
• Must have mechanical skills.
• Must have mathematical skills.
• Must be able to lift up to and including 50 lbs. and must be able to bend and lift.
• Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Experience in a machining environment preferred.
