Overview

A growing civil contractor in the region is seeking an experienced Pipe Fitter Foreman to support large-scale civil construction projects. This role is hands-on leadership: you’ll supervise crews in mass excavation, underground utility installation, storm drain, and finish grade work while ensuring the highest safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise craft workers, ensuring tasks are completed safely, on time, and to spec.

  • Plan daily operations, assign work, and train crew members as needed.

  • Monitor excavation and trenching (10+ ft depths with trench boxes) and storm drain installation.

  • Enforce site safety standards, conduct toolbox talks, and complete required safety reports.

  • Track and report progress, crew hours, and material quantities.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and site plans.

  • Maintain short-term look-ahead schedules and adjust resources as needed.

  • Identify hazards, correct unsafe practices, and ensure compliance with OSHA standards.

  • Serve as the go-to expert when technical guidance or hands-on support is needed.

Qualifications
  • 5–10 years of heavy civil construction experience (excavation, utilities, grading).

  • OSHA 30 certification required.

  • Strong background in storm drainage, concrete, pipe installation, and setting structures.

  • Prior DOT, highway, or bridge project experience preferred.

  • Minimum 2 years in a leadership/supervisory role.

  • Ability to manage crew performance, complete reports, and maintain quality standards.

  • Must be able to read and interpret plans, blueprints, and job documentation.
