Job summary

Dearing Compressor & Pump is seeking a skilled pipefitter to lay out, fit, and interpret blueprints for piping sized from 1 inch to 14 inches in diameter. This role requires precision, teamwork, and a strong commitment to safety in a manufacturing environment, with opportunities to grow within the company.

Duties include assembling or securing pipes and fittings by welding, mounting systems to walls or fixtures, and maintaining pipe systems with hand and power tools.

Qualifications

• One year certificate from college or technical school or related experience and training.
• 3 years of pipe fitting required.
• 3-5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read blueprints and use math skills.
• Ability to read and interpret tape measure.
• Must be able to work as a team.
• Ability to pass a drug test.

Responsibilities

• Lay out full-scale drawings of pipe systems, supports, or related equipment according to blueprints.
• Assemble or secure pipes, fittings, or related equipment by welding.
• Attach pipes to walls, structures, or fixtures using brackets, clamps, tools, or welding equipment.
• Modify, clean, or maintain pipe systems, units, fittings, or related machines or equipment with hand or power tools.
• Knowledge of API 1104 and ASME weldments highly desirable.
• Use advanced math including trigonometry.
• Knowledge of pipe formulas.
• Knowledge of Pipe Fittings and Takeoffs.
• Ability to layout and segment pipe to customer specs.
• Ability to cut pipe, and knowledge of beveling practices.
