Qualifications

Responsibilities

Climate Systems, LLC is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Pipe Fitter to join our mechanical construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the layout, fabrication, assembly, installation, and repair of piping systems for commercial and industrial projects. This role requires strong technical knowledge, the ability to interpret blueprints and specifications, and a commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read, interpret, and utilize blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout, routing, and installation requirements for piping systems.
  • Measure, cut, thread, groove, bend, and assemble pipes and fittings using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Create material take-offs, prepare fitting drawings, and generate material lists while ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Set up and operate hand tools, power tools, and pipefitting equipment safely and effectively.
  • Assemble, install, and secure piping systems, including steel, copper, PVC, and specialty piping, in accordance with project requirements.
  • Modify or fabricate piping as necessary to fit existing structures and ensure proper alignment and installation.
  • Inspect piping systems for leaks, damage, or defects and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
  • Troubleshoot issues with existing piping systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Perform field fabrication and ensure installations meet code requirements and project specifications.
  • Accurately measure and mark materials for cutting, threading, or welding to maintain precise dimensions and tolerances.
  • Apply knowledge of commercial, industrial, and mechanical piping standards, including safety and quality best practices.
  • Climb ladders and work at various elevations as needed to install or repair piping systems.
  • Operate machinery and equipment safely as required for assigned tasks.
  • Collaborate with engineers, welders, project managers, and other trades to meet project timelines and quality standards.
  • Communicate project progress, issues, and material needs effectively with team members, management, and customers.
  • Identify and proactively address potential project delays, installation issues, or safety concerns.
  • Adhere to all company safety standards and utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Observe and report unsafe working conditions and assist in taking corrective actions when necessary.
  • Work effectively with team members to support successful project completion.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Other such duties and responsibilities as assigned from time to time.
Experience & Qualifications
  • 5+ years of proven experience as a Pipe Fitter in commercial, industrial, or mechanical construction environments.
  • Strong knowledge of piping systems, materials, fittings, and installation techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and piping schematics.
  • Experience with field fabrication, layout, and installation of piping systems.
  • Proficiency in the use of hand tools, power tools, and pipefitting equipment.
  • Strong understanding of applicable mechanical and piping codes and standards.
  • Ability to troubleshoot piping system issues and perform repairs effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Physical ability to lift materials, work at heights, and perform tasks in various working conditions.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or related certifications preferred.
