Responsibilities

• Plan, lay out, fabricate, assemble, install, repair, and modify piping systems and pipe assemblies requiring close-tolerance fit and structural soundness on ships, boats, barges, and other floating marine equipment.
• Boat building and fabrication of other structures.
• Tacking various fabrications together to prepare for welding.
• Cutting with plasma and acetylene torches.
• Layout, print reading, cutting, grinding, and buffing aluminum extrusions and plate.
• Clean up work area, general shop cleanup
• Fabricate and assist Welders in repairs to boats and yard equipment.
• Fabricate and tack handrail brackets and similar structures.
• Special projects may be assigned as required by the business.

• Position is located in an active shipyard environment with exposure to outdoor elements, noise, industrial equipment, dust, airborne particles, industrial materials, and chemicals.
