Job summary

JAG Industrial & Marine Services is seeking Marine Pipe Fitters for projects at shipyards nationwide. Travel is required and per diem may be provided.

Candidates should have 5+ years of pipe fitting experience in marine/industrial settings and be willing to relocate to various project sites in the United States. Strong familiarity with pipe fabrication, installation of carbon steel and related components, and the use of common hand tools is expected.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizen or National with a clean background for 10 years and able to pass a 10-panel drug screen.
  • Willing and able to travel to project locations.

Responsibilities

  • Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related equipment.
  • Inspect sites for obstructions and determine pipe path clearance.
  • Cut pipe using saws, cutters, or cutting machines.
  • Work in physically demanding shipboard environments and climb ladders.

JAG Industrial & Marine Services is hiring Marine Pipe Fitters.

JAG Industrial & Marine Services is hiring Marine Pipe Fitters from cities across America for projects located at shipyards across the United States.

Travel is required for all positions. All JAG employees must be willing and able to travel. Projects are located at shipyards throughout the United States and all team members will travel to project locations.

JAG offers competitive pay structure, with per diem available for qualified applicants and the potential to gross approximately $2,000.00 and above per week. Marine Pipe Fitters must have 5+ years trade specific work experience in the physically demanding marine/industrial environment and meet the position requirements listed below Must be U.S. Citizen or National with clean background for a minimum 10 years and able to pass 10 panel drug screen. Immediate openings, short & long term assignments.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
  • Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial production, and processing systems.
  • Inspects work site to determine presence of obstructions and to ascertain pipe path clearance.
  • Cuts pipe, using saws, pipe cutter, cutting torch, and pipe cutting machine.
  • Experience working in a physically demanding environment (shipboard, sub-assemblies, ladders, staging, etc.).
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations relative to the shipbuilding industry.
  • Assembles and installs a variety of pipes, tubes, and fittings, including carbon steel, stainless steel, copper nickel, and aluminum.
  • The Pipe Fitter must be able to properly use the tools of the trade such as wrenches, power threading equipment, power band saws, levels, and other common hand tools.
Physical Requirements

This position requires working in inside and/or outside environmental conditions, shipyard and/or remote locations, teams in open spaces, heights above 6 feet, and/or in confined spaces. Tasks require repetitive sequences that include balancing, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger manipulation, grasping, feeling, seeing, hearing, speaking, an acute sense of smell and exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects and/or lift objects. Protective clothing, hearing and eye protection, hard hats, safety shoes or boots (steel), and respiratory protection shall be worn accordingly.
